Social Involvement
Driven by a desire to spread the magic of Christmas beyond the event's sites, and to give back to the community, the Québec City German Christmas Market actively engages with local youth through educational and charitable initiatives. These actions aim to promote inclusion, stimulate creativity, and offer moments of joy to those who need it most.
La Caravane du Marché
Founded in 2021, La Caravane du Marché (The Market's Caravan) was born from the desire to bring the magic of the holidays to children from more vulnerable socio-economic backgrounds in the Québec City region. Its goal is to offer a festive and generous experience, while stimulating young people's thinking and creativity through a hands-on, philosophy-based activity.
Children are invited to discuss various themes in a fun and supportive environment, as well as create a beautiful Christmas decoration. As a highlight of the event, Santa's elves give each child a game. These gifts are generously provided by our partners Ravensburger and Brio, in collaboration with Simoneau Construction.
Since its inception, more than 1,000 children each year have benefited from this unique activity, which combines generosity, creativity, and the spirit of the holidays.
School Groups
The Québec City German Christmas Market also welcomes school groups free of charge to the Ravensburger Kinderchalet. Every winter, nearly 150 young visitors experience a magical moment there.
Guided by attentive hosts, the children participate in a themed craft workshop. This cozy space becomes a place of discovery and fun, where youngsters can unleash their creativity while immersing themselves in the holiday spirit.
